i start my new job tomorrow, help me please!?
okay so i’m starting my new job at rue 21 tomorrow and it’s retail. i’m soooo nervous because they haven’t showed me how to do anything yet!! and i have to sell atleast two bottles of this perfume stuff a day and idk how i’m gonna do that. and i’m just soo nervous and i’m afraid i’m gonna do something wrong and get yelled at. idk how to clock in or anything. someone please just help me calm down.

They won’t expect you to achieve anything much on your first day. Just watch and learn, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Bon chance!

When they told you you got the job, the easy thing to do would be to say ask these questions. They want you to ask what to wear, how to clock in, where to go, etc.

It’s not too late, though. Tomorrow they should start training you. They don’t expect you to just show up and get to work. You have to learn first.

So just relax and prepare yourself!

They aren’t expecting you to know how to do all of that stuff - you haven’t worked there. They will train you on everything you need to know. They will also show you strategies for selling the perfume, so don’t stress over that right now.

Yelling bosses aren’t that uncommon, so if someone is rude just realize it won’t be the last time. You are getting paid to do a job, so just let that kind of stuff go and don’t take it personally if it happens.

Within a week you’ll wonder why you were ever nervous in the first place.

Dont worry (easier said than done) you will not be expected to just walk in and get on with your job, if anything you will find your first week rather boring because they will wnt to show you the ropes etc…trust me everything will be ok, and good luck. x

When you look at all the seasoned employees around you and think about how much cooler they are than you and how well they know their jobs, you have to tell yourself over and over again, "Once upon a time this person was new and working their very first day. You just weren’t there to see it, but it happened." Anybody can make a job look easy when they’ve been doing it for a long time and someday you will be intimidating a new person with your ease on the job. You must have some good qualities that they saw when they hired you. They chose you! Trust their judgement and when you also look at these peope (and remember they are only flesh and blood like you are), say also to yourself, "If they can do it, so can I"…and MEAN IT!

well first of all congrats on getting the job!
Im almost positive that whoever hired you has faith in you, they saw your resume and know that you’ve never had a job before (in retail), so the probably won’t expect you to know how to clock in and do everything else perfectly. Im sure it can’t be rocket science, right? They will most likely show you everything they expect you to do.
When people are at the cash ask "have you smelled our new perfume today?", or when they first enter the store or something.
Don’t worry, they won’t yell at you! If you just take a deeeeeep breath and relax you’ll do totally fine.
