Christians/anyone: do you ever ask yourself how on earth people get by without Jesus?
has the holy Spirit ever shaken your heart with a revelation that makes you feel like God Himself just walked into the room and tossed a wisdom grenade into your soul? i just worked a very long day and week, and all of the circumstantial garbage just melted away when i realized how my Lord stepped out of the beauty of heaven and into the filth of a stall, yea also from the Father’s heart to my filthy one. then i asked and i ask you, how on earth do these people continue on without knowing Jesus? i can’t go an hour without crying out to Him… im trying to cut it down to minutes.
friends, don’t judge me, you know me not. you take the few words that i’ve given you and fashion them as a sword on your tongue to strike back. instead why don’t you think about it and love thy neighbor?
black jack: from the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. my heart cries out all the time… its the only way i receive the peace to endure.
TBT - my sins are washed away, my chains have been removed. my judgement was passed on to Jesus, He took the rejection i deserve, and you couldn’t be more wrong, i’ve never felt more free in all of my life, Jesus is Lord.
Bar B - forgive me, i did not mean to out or offend. my heart was merely breaking for them. my heart aches when i have a bad day, yet i have peace in my Lord, where do they get theres? would it help if i dressed in sackloth and threw dirt in my hair? sorry, i can’t take my eyes off of Jesus. no one else is worthy.
It is so refreshing and encouraging to hear about people like you who seek the truth and love of Jesus like you do. Sometimes I get so frustrated when people can’t grasp how amazing God’s love gift of free salvation is. I think how terrible it must be for them not to have the hope that lies in a biblical worldview and have absolute certainty that we will one day dwell in heaven with our maker forever. I appreciate that you "speak the truth in love" (1 Cor. 13) instead of condeming people for the way they view the world. Keep up the good work!

do you ever ask yourself, if you have an open mind?

It may shock you to hear that some of us get by just fine using common sense, logic, compassion, and our own brains.
Cheryl E | Jun 13, 2008
yeah, and my heart breaks for them.

well, for those of us who weren’t born and raised christian, it’s an easy question to answer….
it’s like walking on a path through fog….you have know idea where you’re going, what lies ahead, and why you are where you are….

I do wonder sometimes how a person lives life without God.
Sometimes like if they have a family in surgery, or are in a desperate situation, I wonder what they do. Saying prayers is comforting and lets you know that you are loved and being protected, and it’s strange to think that someone can live without that.

The rest of us live like that too. But instead of giving gratitude to some deity, we realize that we are our own destiny makers. and so instead of blaming god for the good (and the bad), we take it and make the best of it.
We are in control of our own lives while you live off of the droppings of an invisible being whose power you only feel.

It’s quite easy, we actually THINK for ourselves. Instead of clinging to a belief for stability
i don’t know whether to laugh or to cry…..

When I watch them suffer so much through a tragedy and realize they have no source of comfort outside other humans or things….Then I do wonder.

I am in awe every day of what Jesus did for us all. What He does for me every day and what He will do for me in the future. There is no other above or beside Him. He is. He is my everything.

Yes! I think it is sad and they are going to a bad place and will burn
britty_jane | Jun 13, 2008
Not very often, but then, I manage to get by without him on a daily basis.
Wolfechu II | Jun 13, 2008
WHOA sounds like your on fire.
Keep that flame going.
I don’t really understand how they do it either.
Its nice to have someone to run to whenever everything is just so wrong.

Ummm…..I love jesus!!!!haha
Just…Shawn | Jun 13, 2008
No, can’t say that I had that happen to me. I once had a BM that felt a little like that once. I get by okay…thanks for asking.
Coolazeyez | Jun 13, 2008
Wow.
well agnostic and i can go on with every day smiling.
Needing someone that much, like you’re writing about, it almost sad to watch.

Yes at times i have wondered how they do it…I also at times feel sorry for some people who have never known what it is to have that peace you are talking about it’s a shame they have no idea what they are missing out on …i think the reason some don’t understand and want proof there is a God is because until they feel this for themselves there is no way for them to know the proof is in knowing him and having him in your life…as for trying to cut back on the time you cry out to him why would you want to do that? I hope i can add to the time i cry out to him but also to the time i praise him and give him thanks because i do know i can’t make it without him in my life. God Bless You and keep crying out we all need as much as possible.

I obviously have an utterly different mind-set to you.
You think of everything in terms of Jesus or God. I can imagine every aspect of your life, and every decision you make to be in terms of your religion.
I see you as being imprisoned by your strange beliefs.
TBT | Jun 13, 2008
I ponder that question every day. Answer: Their focus is on self with sins of pride and self seeking pleasures as their blinders blocking from their vision to see their need for Christ.
P.C. | Jun 13, 2008
I continually wonder that. Where do they find their hope to live each day? If I didn’t have Him, I don’t know where I’d be, or if I’d even be alive!
Kirsten Erin | Jun 13, 2008
There’s such a thing as too much and that happened to you ten fold back.
I’m amzazed in the other direction - that people can call themselves Christian, go to Church every week and then forget about it for 6 days and 22 hours until the next time for self torture. They seem fine forgetting about him.
davster | Jun 13, 2008
People get along fine by denying Jesus, which is in effect kicking God out of His throne, taking His place with SELF and making themselves Lord of their own lives…
Then it becomes easy, because they remain in the natural, conformed to a world of evil and ungodliness instead of being transformed into godliness and righteousness through obedience to God.
Servant Leader | Jun 13, 2008
Yes. God is good. I don’t know how I got along without the Lord, but it was a very confusing time for me.
Cee T | Jun 13, 2008
You tell us not to judge you, but in your question you judge everyone who does not share the came belief set as you. And believe me there are 4.7 billion people that see the world without Jesus Christ as their savior (There are 2 billion Christians).
Bar B | Jun 13, 2008
The unsaved DON’T know anything else but to commit sins. It’s what they do by NATURE.
How terrible to stumble through "life" deceived, brainwashed, mixed up, and TOTALLY blinded by Satan. Even worse still, is that this death filled, wicked, world of lies and deceit is all the unsaved have to look forward to, and then they’ll die and go to a Hell that will make this world look like a paradise.
It’s tragic.
Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me!!
Donald T | Jun 13, 2008
Actually no, I don’t. I can’t know how anyone else experiences the world. I assume that if they need a deity at all that eventually they will find God. Whatever vision of God they happen to resonate with.
But what I do wonder about is the idea of putting things into perspective. Times when you need to evaluate your life and its direction. Not that a particular religion or Deity is needed for that, but I tend to think that trying to get at your own "heart" or unconscious mind is pretty important in going through something like that.
My question would be that if you are a person who has no belief in the unconscious mind, (I’m thinking that maybe a skeptic wouldn’t) or the "power" of the unconscious mind to sort steer your life into directions that your waking mind does not want, how do you make those life altering kinds of assessments?
As a person of faith, yes I can pray, but I also try to make use of different types of meditation. I can imagine myself as both a waking and subconscious being. Do Atheists do this at all?
Does the title "Atheist" automatically translate as "skeptic"?

I do ask myself how people get by with out a God (although as a Pagan, not Jesus specifically).
As someone who’s life has been touched by several God’s, I can’t imagine being without them.
I hear people comment that believing in God’s is deluded, and I have a hard time understanding how they could find joy in a life so bereft of magic.
Nighttree | Jun 14, 2008
I do. Life is hard, and even with Jesus those hard times can really suck the air out of our lungs. I always wonder how anyone survives on their own without Him.
